V3 Rush Recreational / Developmental Boys & Girls League
The V3 Rush Recreational / Developmental Boys League is for less experienced players who wish to become more comfortable with individual skills and team play while learning the basic rules of the game. We believe that a focus on individual skill development and proper technique will make better lacrosse players.
Players will be grouped by age and experience. There will be one training session per week conducted by US Lacrosse Certified coaches and V3 Rush Staff Instructors and scrimmages on Sunday afternoons. Scrimmages will be 5v5 (all runners, no positions) and 7v7 (positions introduced) as different principles of the sport are learned to intermediate levels.
We keep the team size (and field size) small to maximize the playing time that each player gets so that they progress faster. At this level of play, it's important to make sure that young athletes get as much playing time and as many touches as possible while having fun.
Midway through the season there will be opportunities to play other teams at similar skll levels in a regulation 7v7 game format.
Volunteer parent coaches are encouraged to come to training sessions and learn the skills from very experienced coaches and instructors. Parent coaches can progress to become game day coaches upon qualification.
This program is focus on teaching less experienced players proper techniques and affording lot's of repetitions and "touches" to build sklll, confidence and basic strategies.
Training sessions and scrimmages will be at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex facility.

Girls require a stick, facemask and mouth guard

Boys require a stick, helmet, shoulder pads, arm guards, gloves and mouth guard. An athletic cup is highly recommended.

US Lacrosse Membership is required and you will be promted to enroll or renew during registration - this is an annual membership that covers supplemental player insurance and players will receive a subscription to Lacrosse Magazine which contains information for parents and players about the sport. The annual dues for US Lacrosse are $25.00 and go directly to the National Governing Body.
